“I've been studying Spanish with Jose for a few months now and I can't emphasize how great my experience has been. I'm a Latina raised in the states with a decent Spanish comprehension base, but I unfortunately never applied this to my daily language usage which left my Spanish speaking ability lacking (parents never spoke it at home). I searched for a Spanish teacher that could instruct me in a customizable way seeing as I'm no novice, although I needed help being able to keep up with my professional counterparts that are fluent in business level Spanish. Jose provides easy instruction, offers interactive exercises and we engage in topical conversations as well for optimal practice. We also read a lot which, if you've ever been taught anything, is paramount to fundamental learning. I get my lessons online via an online classroom that Jose instructs from. His availability has been convenient for me and I'm happy that I did this. It's never too late to learn a language and to reconnect with your culture, as was the case for me. If you think you don't have time, Jose is extremely flexible with his. Also, I challenge you to commit to two hours per week to invest in yourself and increase your abilities. We can all make time for what we think is worthy and valuable and for me, this is!”

“I cannot recommend Spanish Language 4 Business enough! I am a psychologist who works with many monolingual Spanish-speaking families. While I had a lot of previous Spanish language instruction, when I started my current position, I felt the need to brush up on my skills. I have been taking weekly individual classes for the past ~1 year, and have benefited immensely from working with Jose Ramirez. The classes work perfectly with my schedule, and are tailored to my level. That means, Jose often works with me on grammatical structures or vocabulary I am less familiar with, while broadening my cultural knowledge and Spanish literacy by reading and discussing articles he has found. He takes great care to find readings that apply to my field and/or relate to the clients I see. As a result, I truly enjoy our discussions, and I find Jose to be an incredibly supportive teacher. He is also very diligent in recommending additional resources, and sending vocabulary words to practice via the app, Quizlet. As a result of these classes, I recently passed the exam for bilingual clinicians at my current job (at a level that would allow me to begin the process of becoming a certified translator). Moreover, my highest scores were in the areas of cultural knowledge and fluency (meaning the ability to respond as a native speaker might). Thus, as I said at the start of this post, I cannot recommend Spanish Language 4 Business enough!”

His private tutorials have been perfect for my optimal learning. I need to be able to converse with constituents, especially older residents who speak little English. And I greatly value his flexibility in scheduling classes around my schedule.
After studying the first Basic Spanish text, we are now working on an Intermediate text, and new instructional material including reading articles in Spanish and listening to the audio for additional pronunciation help during the week. I find these instructional materials with audio extremely helpful both in improving my pronunciation and increasing my vocabulary and understanding idioms.
In addition, I enjoy working with digital flash cards and matching games to study vocabulary and verbs. Professor Ramirez also has helped me with short speeches for more formal occasions.
